How I got started
From my childhood, I’ve always dreamed about growing up to be a comic artist. As I grew older, my parents told me, that if I really want to succeed in the “REAL WORLD”, I have to do something relevant with computer. He gave me a mission, to find my interest in the field of technology. And that’s the reason when I first got in touch with computer animation. I always thought manga and anime were cool, and loved them ever since I was born. I never really believed myself to be successful, because I see that there are always people who are better than me. But like I believed in my dad, to move on, I have to find an interest related to computer. So I took another route is to become a 3D animator. I really liked it, at first, because I had all these great people and friends learning it with me. We took the course together in highschool, and always in discussion of how we see ourselves working together in the future. We entered the Skills Canada competition together, we won Gold Medal for the regional contest and advances to win Bronze Medal in the Provincial contest. Couldn’t really believe myself in that moment, and I thought my career is going to become a 3D animatior.
But the journey didn’t end there, as i finished my highschool, I wanted to b involved in computer art, and needed a university degree. Then I register for SFU Surrey for Interactive Arts program. It was the only school that I applied, and I was so confident that I will succeed in what I wanted to do. At that time, I was actually the only person who entered to that program from my highschool. I was surprised, because my friends decided to move on to other directions as their career. When I got in to SFU, I met a lot of great people, because more people are actually passionate in this program. I was glad that I made the decision, I learned that there’s more than Computer Animation that actually uses computer and related to my interest. I learned about Films, Websites, Motion Sensors, Flash, and all bunch more. But my mind opener was actually GAME DESIGN. I had a great professor who enlightens me showing me all bunch of great things that can be accomplished in a GAME. Digital game is pretty much everything combined in the field of interactive arts. So the decision was made, I want to graduate to become a great successful Game Designer. I’ve always had a huge passion in game, and had a childhood dream to actually become the top game designer of Asia.
I love to see people play games, and actually enjoy the content of the game, because GAME is meant to be FUN. I love people’s expression when they played a fun game. If it is my duty to living, then I want to make more people have FUN playing games.
